Starting or continuing your plan
One button on the home page either starts a plan or reopens the one already in this browser.
If this browser has no plan with your own details, the home page shows “Start my plan”. It asks how you’d like to begin: Guide me, which asks one question at a time, or Jump right in, which goes straight to the sections you choose.
Starting never replaces a plan that already exists. A blank plan is created only when there isn’t one, and closing the chooser changes nothing.
The home page is FLYNQD’s only introduction. Older links to the Welcome page now open the home page, or go straight to the journey they named, without changing your plan.
If you’ve already entered your own details here, the button reads “Continue my plan”. It opens your dashboard, or returns you to the guided questions if you were part way through them. Your plan opens exactly as you left it.
The bar at the top of the home page has three links: How it works jumps to the example forecast, Plans opens the plan comparison, and Help opens these guides and walkthroughs. Once you scroll past the main button, the same Start or Continue button appears in the bar. On a phone, the links are under the Menu button. The FLYNQD logo always brings you back to the home page.
Starting from a picture
Below the introduction, six pictures show common stages of life: Studying, Starting out, Family life, Nearing retirement, Working less and Retired. Choosing one opens Guide me at the first question for that stage. If none fits, “Something else? Help me choose” helps you pick.
Point at a picture, or move to it with the keyboard, to see a thought bubble with the kind of question people often ask at that stage. On a phone or tablet, tap the button under the picture instead, and Close to hide it again.
Some introductions, such as “Let’s plan your family’s future”, ask what you’d like to start with. Choose your interests, then Continue. We’ll bring those sections earlier in your setup, in the usual order for your stage. After a little about you, the sections you chose come first, and every other section follows later. Choosing “Not sure yet” keeps the usual order. Your choices change only the order of your setup, never your figures, and you can change them by going Back.
Each picture also has a Show me button, and the thought bubble has one too. It plays a short demonstration with a fictional person at that stage: Leo while studying, Aisha starting out, Charlotte and Edward in family life, Brian nearing retirement, Jo working less and Anita in retirement. Each one asks a question, shows today’s picture, tries one change and compares the two, using figures from the real forecast. It ends with a button for that stage’s guided journey. Show me under the main introduction follows Sam, 40, asking whether he could retire at 63 instead of 67.
Demonstrations never type into or save to your plan, and closing one leaves the page as it was. You can play one through, step through it yourself with the arrows or arrow keys, or read it as text. If you already have a plan, the main demonstration ends with “Continue my plan”.
Opening a stage’s journey from a demonstration or picture only takes you there. Your saved plan doesn’t change until you answer a question, and a form you have open in another tab keeps what you’ve typed.
Back on the first question returns you to the home page at the point where you left it. Any answers you’ve given are kept, and choosing a picture never replaces a plan you already have.
Guided journeys in every plan
Every guided life-stage journey, including all six picture starts, is included in Free, FLYNQD Sub and FLYNQD Full. Choosing a picture never asks you to upgrade.
Within a journey, some advanced tools depend on your plan. For example, Free lets you enter one overall figure for your savings and one for your investments, while listing separate accounts needs FLYNQD Sub or Full. Free plans for one person, Sub adds a partner, and Full adds other family members. Planning tools such as Rent or Buy are part of Full. A paid tool never stops you finishing the free steps of a journey, and basic forecasts and entering your figures are never restricted.
How a step that needs a paid plan will appear inside a journey is still being built. Subscription access controls and purchasing aren’t active yet, so nothing is locked and you can use every step that has been built.
Choose your FLYNQD on the home page compares the plans in a short list. Choose “See the full feature list” to see every feature. A tick shows which plan a feature belongs to, not whether it’s finished: features marked “In development” have started but aren’t complete, such as the estate and inheritance tools, and those marked “Not built yet” haven’t been started. Tiers and prices are still provisional.
Tax estimates in FLYNQD Full add pension tax, Capital Gains Tax and HMRC document reconciliation. Reconciliation means you type figures from an HMRC document, such as an SA302 tax calculation, and FLYNQD compares them with its own estimate. FLYNQD doesn’t connect to HMRC, submit anything to HMRC, or have HMRC’s endorsement.
Finding a suitable adviser is included in every plan, and FLYNQD may occasionally suggest it. Getting advice is always optional, you can dismiss these suggestions, and nothing from your plan is shared. Adviser matching isn’t available yet. FLYNQD Pro is a separate product for financial advisers, and FLYNQD Light is a separate portal, free for clients of FLYNQD Pro advisers. Sharing your plan with an adviser is a separate feature and hasn’t been assigned to a plan yet.
No account needed
You can explore and build a plan without registering. Your plan is kept in this browser on this device, so use the same browser to come back to it.
The example forecast on the home page uses fictional figures and is labelled as an example. It is never copied into your plan.
